蘋果寶貝鬆餅 Apple Dutch Baby Pancake

不記得我在那兒讀過這樣的一句話：『最好吃的秋天甜品是那些加了蘋果的。』

亦不知為何，我對任何用雞蛋、麵粉和牛奶烘出來的鬆餅類食物，都無法抗拒。

I once read somewhere, “The best fall desserts are the ones that have apples in them.”

And I don’t know why, I can never resist anything that’s made with egg, flour and milk.

昨天九月二十三日，是農曆的秋分，也是西曆秋至。正式告別了夏日，開始用期盼的心情去迎接逐漸轉涼的季候，和一個比一個溫暖熱閙的中西節慶。

It was 23rd September yesterday, also the autumn equinox on both eastern and western calendar. As we bid farewell to summer, we begin to welcome in the colder seasons, looking forward to all of the exciting celebrations and festivals which are just around the corner.

蘋果酥派 Apple Crumble

每年的九月和十月，在英國是蘋果的盛產季節。雖然老公替我在後園種下的兩株小蘋果樹今年還沒有甚麼收成，但本土的各處蘋果農塲，則享受著美好的大豐收。由於去年冬天的和暖，今年春季雨水的充分，這個夏天足夠的陽光，然後乾爽的九月，讓本地的蘋果可以比往年提前兩星期摘取。

British orchards are enjoying a bumper crop this season. The British apple harvest has begun two weeks early this year thanks to the last warm winter followed by plenty of sunshine and lots of rainfall this summer.  A dry September allowed the picking to get started early.

英國今年的春夏季因為來得比往年早，於是感覺上逗留的時間很短暫，離去也怱促。

Spring and summer came earlier than usual in the UK this year. As a result it feels like they were here for less time and their departure feels quite abrupt.

英國和歐洲，仍然奉行「日光節約時制」Daylight saving time。每年三月最後的星期天把時鐘向前撥一小時 (夏令時間)，然後十月最後的星期日調慢一小時回標準時間 (冬令時間)。

女兒回來了。今年的復活節是四月廿四日，但大學上星期已開始放假。一整個月毋須上課，並不代表全部時間可以用來吃喝玩樂，因為假期之後，年終試便會即刻開始。
